Dr Kate Bickley, Wanaka Chiropractor
Dr Kate Bickley graduated from RMIT, Melbourne, in 2005 after completing the 5-year full-time degrees in Chiropractic and Clinical Science. Over the years since Kate has lived and worked in Queensland for over 5 years, then travelled to beautiful Scotland where she lived and worked for 2 years. Kate has been living and working back in Wanaka since 2013.
A Southland girl born and bred, Kate discovered chiropractic at 13yrs old when she went with her Mum to the chiropractor to find out what an adjustment was. After a very active childhood, Kate was fascinated by the potential of chiropractic care.
She loved the fact that Chiropractic Care could help people in restoring their balance, health, strength and well-being through improving the function of the nervous system!
Kate loves being a chiropractor for the potential chiropractic care has to help anyone of any age, and from any walk of life, adapting care to suit anyone's personal needs.
Working with the whole body, Kate combines physical care and nutritional/ lifestyle advice to enhance your body’s natural healing ability. Kate is particularly interested in working with pregnant women, babies, and children with learning difficulties. Working with nutrition and movement, Kate also keeps our local Wanaka athletes on top of their game with optimal Health, Strength and Vitality.
Kate loves spending time outdoors, enjoying hiking into the hills (both along the bottom and to the top!), rock-climbing, and skiing. Luckily, the Wanaka landscape and outdoor focus inspires and encourages all of these 'down-time' pursuits!
Dr Janie Dawn, Wanaka Chiropractor
Janie is a registered chiropractor in NZ having graduated with a Master of Chiropractic from Glamorgan University in 2011. She has also completed her Diploma in Chiropractic (2012) and is diligent in attending post-graduate Chiropractic professional education. She is always looking to expand her knowledge base and develop her chiropractic tool kit in order to provide evidence based chiropractic care for as many people as possible.
Working with a person holistically, Janie aims to consider every factor of an individual's lifestyle so she can effectively correct dysfunction, and prevent injury recurrence. As a Chiropractor, she particularly focuses on the state and function of one's neuromusculoskeletal system and nutrition, discovering the effect this is having on an individual.
Janie was fortunate enough to grow up with chiropractic care, to have the opportunity of a higher level of health and function from a very young age. As a baby she was very colicky and unsettled - problems a baby (or the parents) shouldn't have to experience. With regular visits to the chiropractor she soon became a very comfortable and settled baby. Going to the chiropractor as a child was always a highlight and growing up she continued to receive regular chiropractic care. During this time she noticed enhanced concentration and memory with studies, faster recovery after exercising, and a significant increase in energy.
This background among other positive family experiences with Chiropractic, has driven Janie to become a Chiropractor and to help others live healthy lives. She believes everyone can benefit from having a Chiropractic check up. Be proactive in your life and your health today and reap the benefits in years to come.
Janie loves living in Wanaka with her husband and almost-one-year-old daughter. As a family they enjoy all the abundant activities that the area has to offer from walking to paddle boarding, wakeboarding and snowboarding.
She looks forward to being a part of your journey in health and happiness.
Charlene Waring- Office Co-ordinator Extraordinaire
Charlene- a South African, married to an Englishman, with 2 Kiwi babies- moved to New Zealand in 2011. Charlene has seen a lot of the world- after moving to the UK in 2006 for love, Charlene and her Husband decided to chase their dreams and ended up in Wanaka in 2011. With a love of biking, snowboarding, paddle boarding and the great outdoors, Wanaka easily became home.
Charlene became part of the Chiro Connect family in March 2016, and her vibrancy and skill at guessing Kate's thoughts meant she quickly became a great asset to the smooth running of the office. Though she is currently on maternity leave she still keeps her eye on everything running smoothly behind the scenes. :-) Charlene has begun working and answering the phones from home, and will make her return to eh office in early 2018.
Melissa Lane- Office Receptionist and all round 'Ideas Man'
Melissa grew up in Queenstown and spent almost 10 years living and working overseas. She was working hard with her husband to purchase a lifestyle property in Central Otago and move back home to be around friends and family.
She joined Chiro Connect in July 2016 and has been an excellent support to our team. Supporting Charlie initially, Melissa has been fantastic in providing Charlie's ability to take maternity leave, while continuing the smooth operation of the practice.
She now enjoys a healthy lifestyle working in the district, and working around her home in her orchard and garden to produce more of her own food. Fixing their home up takes up a lot of the weekends, but Melissa and her husband Gerald, along with their dog Bonsai, still find time for kayaking and hiking around our beautiful district.
